Wayne Dysinger, MD, MPH, is the Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine at Loma Linda University and Medical Director of the Lifestyle Medicine Institute. Dr. Dysinger is a past President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, has worked in various capacities with the American Medical Association and the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research. He is currently on the board of the American College of Preventive Medicine and His primary passion is Lifestyle Medicine and using that to reverse the chronic disease epidemic that is occurring worldwide. He practices what he preaches, participating regularly in triathlons and marathons.
Andrea Avery, MD, specializes in internal medicine, with over 25 years of clinical experience. She is featured as the practicing physician on the updated CHIP videos. In addition to private practice, her career has focused extensively on clinical teaching of medical students and physicians in training. She has served on the faculty at several universities—most recently as Professor of Medicine at University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Darren Morton is a Senior Lecturer at Avondale College of Higher Education, with 20 years experience at providing dynamic, engaging education. As an international speaker who has delivered hundreds of public presentations, he is known for his contagious energy and enthusiasm for optimal health. CHIP participants will recognise Darren from his role as one of the key experts in the updated videos, specialising in providing practical tools and motivation to participants to support them on their journey.
John Kelly, MD, MPH is a recognized leader in the Lifestyle Medicine movement as a recipient of an AMA Foundation Excellence in Medicine Award for his efforts as Founding President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine in 2004. Dr. Kelly is certified in Preventive Medicine with degrees in Epidemiology and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. He serves as faculty for three medical schools and he inspires, motivates and educates international audiences how simple lifestyle choices powerfully affect our genes and our well-being.
Chef AJ has been devoted to a plant-based diet for almost 40 years. She is the host of the television series Healthy Living with CHEF AJ which airs on Foody TV. With her comedy background, she has made appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman and more. A chef, culinary instructor and professional speaker, she is author of the popular book Unprocessed: How to Achieve Vibrant Health and Your Ideal Weight, which chronicles her journey from a junk-food vegan faced with a diagnosis of pre-cancerous polyps, to learning how to create foods that nourish and heal the body.
Dick Tibbits, DMin, is the Chief Operating Officer at Florida Hospital Tampa as well as the author of the book Forgive to Live which is currently printed in four languages. He is a sought after speaker who has presented at The National Institute of Health, Harvard University, The Mayo Clinic, Duke University, Stanford University, Ohio University, University of Oklahoma and Loma Linda University. He speaks regularly at CHIP meetings and other conferences and seminars both nationally and internationally.
