Our creator gave us the bounty of the earth. He gave us the plants and he gave us
dominion over the animals. There is no published diet called the "maker's diet" that we
can look up. In fact, if one searches the Bible for "diet" or "maker's diet",
no results are found. Does this mean, then, that there is no maker's diet?

There are references in scripture which provide insight into the "maker's diet".
Take a look and remember: Each of you may choose to interpret them differently. Here are
a few of the references:
| Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing
plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in
it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and
all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the
ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for
food." And it was excellent in every way. |

Genesis 1:29-31 |
|
And after the flood, God told Noah and his sons: "All wild
animals and birds and fish will be afraid of you for I have placed them in your power and they are
yours to use for food, in addition to grain and vegetables. But never eat animals unless their
life-blood has been drained off."

Exodus 16:15
Tyndale Paraphrased |
| But the people began to complain and said, "We want meat."
And God told Moses, "Tell them, "the Lord has heard your complaints, and he is going to give you
meat". And God sent quail to eat with the ground covered with them, three feet thick.
And as they began to eat the meat, a large number of people died with the plague. And the
place was called, "The Place of the Graves Caused by Lust," because they buried here the people who
had lusted for meat and for Egypt. |

Tyndale Paraphrased |
|

gardens and grain fields, which they invaded. And the very next day, the manna stopped, and it
was never seen again. So from that time on, they lived on the crops of Canaan. |

vegetables, and grain for man to cultivate. |
|
Psalm 104:14
Tyndale Paraphrased |
|
| Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both
banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail.
Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them.
Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing." |
|
Ezekiel 47:12 |
|
| Do you not know that your body is a temple of
the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not
your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. |

Philosophers and historians have also
searched for the maker's diet. From the 4th-5th century, Plato's abstracts reveal:
|
Plato's works are imbued with
the fundamental principle of moderation. This spirit is characteristically
evident in his references to human diet. According to the philosopher, a
moderate and thus a healthy diet, consists of cereals, legumes, fruits,
milk, honey and fish. However, meat, confectionery and wine should be
consumed only in moderate quantities. Excesses in food lead to ailments and
therefore should be avoided. Plato considers physicians responsible for the
regulation of human diet, for medicine is a science and not merely an art as
in the case of cookery.

E.G. White of the Ministry of Healing
possibly provided the best summary of all into the existence of maker's diet
when she said: "Through the agencies of nature, God is working, day by
day, hour by hour, moment by moment, to keep us alive, to build up and restore us."
