I often hear it is too expensive to eat healthy. Fresh fruits and vegetables cost too much and are not in the budget. Let’s take a closer look. I went to the store this week and did some comparisons. Here is what I found (all prices are per pound).

All of the healthy foods in the left column are under $1.00 a pound. People who attend the CHIP wellness program and learn how to make healthy choices discover they save on average 30% on their food bill. Eating healthy doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
